This month’s newsletter is heading out to subscribers. This month we have great information about using unity candles in ceremonies.

Some pointers: if you need to do the ceremony outside, consider investing in oil unity candles, or at least tall hurricane glasses to put over them. Nothing ruins a ceremony like the whispers of the guests when your flames blow out and everyone is distracted and wondering if it’s an omen. Also, take a moment to double check that the glass actually fits over the candles. I’ve seen couples discover this during the ceremony, a bit too late.

You can buy unity candles or decorate your own if you are on a budget. The main pillar candle often serves as an anniversary candle, and the candlesticks make great reminders for romantic dinners.

After the ceremony, the pillar candle can also be used as a reminder of your vows. One partner can light it whenever he or she wants to signal that they need some time with the other partner, or to “schedule” some private time.
